Decommissioning Case Studies
Over the last five-year period, the team successfully delivered a comprehensive, multi-phased decommissioning project at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Cork. The project encompassed the decommissioning of facilities—including buildings and cleanrooms—along with utilities such as HVAC and purified water systems, and a wide range of process and laboratory equipment, including reactors, bioreactors, and complete production lines.
The project concluded with the safe and compliant discontinuation of multiple legacy products from all systems both local and global, meeting all regulatory and site requirements.

Phase 1: Two sterile manufacturing suites which formulated and packaged multiple drug products (one of which was OEB5) . This phase also included the decommissioning of relevant utilities and equipment (fixed and Mobile).

Phase 2: A four story API Fermentation Building which included multiple manufacturing suites. utilities, manufacturing equipment and laboratory equipment .

Phase 3 : Off-Site stored legacy equipment. The decommissioning and disposal/repurpose saved the site significantly with annual storage fees. This phase also included Product Discontinuation, removing multiple products from all systems both locally and globally.

Phase 4: A large cohort of QC Laboratory equipment across multiple laboratories including Chemistry, Micro, raw materials etc.
